Night Blooms

Have you ever heard a sunset?
Hear her long golden stretch
At the time of ho’omalie
And the sounds of
Calm amber whispers

For one upside down day a year
She lends her coronal headress
At the moment of dusk
To the Queen of the Night
A honeyed call to her bats

Have you rested in the fragrance of darkness?
Rare and primal in this moongarden
A mix of ethereal jasmine and musk
Robert sings
“She’s a lady we all know”

Have you felt the space of 3am?
Eyes open to gentle umbra
Are you dreaming?
Did you die in this place?
The infinity of the in between

Beloved ephemeral bloom
She wilts at dawn
And returns the crown
For aurora’s magnificent rebirth

Today’s NaPoWriMo Prompt: Today, try writing a poem that similarly imposes a particular song on a place. Describe the interaction between the place and the music using references to a plant and, if possible, incorporate a quotation – bonus points for using a piece of everyday, overheard language.
